How To Change Your Dial-Up Number

Follow the appropriate instructions to change your local dial-up number.

Windows 95/98
Double click on the 'My Computer' icon.
Double click on the 'Dial-Up Networking' icon.
Right click on the 'Safe' or 'Safe-t.net' icon.
Left click on the 'Properties' selection from the menu which comes up.
In the next window which comes up, change the number located in this screen.

Windows ME
Double click on the 'My Computer' icon.
Click on  'Dial-Up Networking'.
Right click on the 'Safe' or 'Safe-t.net' icon.
Left click on the 'Properties' selection from the menu which comes up.
In the next window which comes up, change the number located in this screen.

Windows NT
Double click on the 'My Computer' icon.
Double click on the 'Dial-Up Networking' icon.
Click on the 'More' button, then select 'Edit Entry and Modem Properties'.
Change the number under the 'Basic' tab where it says 'Phone Number'.

Windows XP
Click "Start".
Click on "Connect To" then "Show All Connections"
Right click on the 'Safe' or 'Safe-t.net' icon.
Left click on the 'Properties' selection from the menu which comes up.
In the next window which comes up, change the number located in this screen.

Macintosh
FreePPP:
Go into the FreePPP setup, by clicking either on the icon in the menu bar, or finding it in the control panels.
If you cannot find it in either of these locations, do a File->Find for "FreePPP".
Then click on the 'Accounts' tab.
Then make sure Safe-PPP is selected, and click on 'Edit'.
You can then change the number under 'Phone number' in this screen.

Config PPP:
Open up the Config PPP menu by double clicking on the icon in the control panels.
If you cannot find it in this location, do a File->Find for "Config PPP".
Click on the 'Config' button at the bottom.
You can then change the number under 'Phone num' in this screen.
