If you are not sure what type of modem you have or
what firmware version you are running, find your Operating System below and follow the
instructions.
Windows 95/98 Modems Control Panel Info
1. Disconnect from the Internet, and open up the Modem Control Panel (To
do this double click on "My Computer" from your desktop, double click on
"Control Panel", then double click on "Modems".
2. After double clicking on the modems icon, you should see your Modem
properties and you will also see the name of your modem. Click on the Diagnostics
tab.
3. Select your modem from the list.
4. Click on the "More Info" Button.
5. Your modem will now run a communications test. This may
take several minutes. After completed you will see the results of your modems ATI
commands. The ATI commands can be used to get information about your modem.
The commands meanings vary from modem to modem, but you may be able to find your modem's
speed, brand name and model number, and the firmware version. For example, on a
Rockwell 56K modem and a Lucent or LT 56K modem the information after the ATI3 command is
usually your firmware version. On a 3Com/U.S. Robotics modem the information after
the ATI7 command is usually your firmware version. After locating this

select one of the links to upgrade your firmware.
