Where Has Your Computer Been?

Do you know where your family has been surfing?  

 You may have wondered if there was a way to check on them.

     Did you know there are files and directories in your computer that show:

  • What pictures or graphics have been looked at.

  • What has been downloaded.

  • What sites your computer has been to or viewed.

Listed below is a step by step guide to finding the folders and directories on your computer that show where your computer has been on the Internet.

1.  Finding the "Temporary Internet files" folder.

The "Temporary Internet files" folder is the main folder for keeping track of the Internet content your computer has seen.  If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, simply follow the steps below to find the folder and see "where your computer has been".  If you are using a different browser and would like help in finding your computer history simply send an email to us at feedback@safe-t.net with the browser you are using in the body of message and we will send you instructions on how to get your computers history.

 

STEP 1. 

1.  Start by right clicking on the Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop.

2.  This should get you to a screen that looks like the image below.

3.  Go to the properties option and click.

Step 2.

1.  In this new window you click on the settings button in the middle of the window.  (See image below)

Step 3.

1.  Once you get to the Settings window, click on the "view files" and this window should appear with all the History of your internet activities.* (See image below)

* Your Internet activity history will be limited to the number of days your history bin is set for.
