Add Proxy Setting

Effective July 10th, 2006, all dial up users must have proxy settings entered into their computer in order to surf the internet.

If you do not have proxy.safe-t.net in the address and port 808 entered in the http line of the proxy configuration, you will only be able to surf our home page. All other web page requests will result in a "Page timed Out" error.

Please locate the web browser that you use on your computer and follow the steps listed below it, in order to surf the internet.

Also some Anti-Virus programs and Anti-Spyware programs may require this proxy setting in order to perform the daily updates.

Web Browsers Setup

All of these instructions assume that you already have your web browser open by double clicking on it.

Internet Explorer 5.5

Select Tools => Internet Options.
Select the Connections tab.
Select "Safe-t.net" or the connection that you use and click the Settings button.
In the "Proxy Server" area, click the check box next to Access the Internet through a proxy server.
Set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click OK

Internet Explorer 6.0

Select Tools => Internet Options.
Select the Connections tab.
Select "Safe-t.net" or the connection that you use and click the Settings button.
In the "Proxy Server" area, click the check box next to Use a proxy server ....
Set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank)
Click OK

Opera 7

Select File => Preferences.
Select the Network tab.
Click the "Proxy servers" button.
In the necessary proxy field(s), set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank)
Click OK.

Opera 8.5

Select Tools => Preferences.
Select the Network tab.
Click the "Proxy servers" button.
In the necessary proxy field(s), set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click OK.

Mozilla 1.7

Select Edit => Preferences.
Select Advanced to open sub-menu.
Select the Proxies item.
Select the Manual Proxy Configuration radio button.
In the necessary proxy field(s), set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click OK

Firefox 1.x

Select Tools => Options.
Select General.
Select "General" tab.
In the "Connections" area click the "Connection Settings" button.
Select the Manual Proxy Configuration radio button.
In the necessary proxy field(s), set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click OK

Netscape Navigator 6

Select Edit => Preferences.
Click on the triangle next to the Advanced category to expand it.
Select the Proxies item.
Select the Manual Proxy Configuration radio button.
Click the View button.
In the necessary proxy field(s), set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click OK

Netscape Navigator 7

Select Edit => Preferences.
Click on the triangle next to the Advanced category to expand it.
Select the Proxies item.
Select the Manual Proxy Configuration radio button.
In the necessary proxy field(s), set HTTP Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click OK

AntiSpyware Setup

AdAware

Select "Check For Updates Now".
Click on the "Configure" button.
Click the circle beside "Use HTTP Proxy".
In the necessary proxy field(s), set Proxy Server address - proxy.safe-t.net, port - 808 (You should leave the other boxes blank).
Click Connect.
